Pouring the footings
Today, 12/31/2014, was the day for pouring the barn footings. This was fascinating on many levels, so the post will be a bit longer than usual. First, they had to get the cement truck under the wires - see the following. The first pic isn't too clear, so the second shows how to improvise a tight situation.
Next, the cement is poured into the pumper.

And, finally, the cement needs to be smoothed - pretty messy for the man in the pit!
Next stop on the road will be after the footings set, they will pour the foundation walls and the retaining walls. That may be a while, as winter (in the form of very cold weather) has arrived.
